Overall Guidelines
- Students may apply to be considered for a maximum of two (2) grad awards in total.
- Complete one online application. You must respond to all the questions and fill our the required categories on the Google Form.
- The deadline for the application is Monday, May 12, 2025 at 9 a.m.
- Only the student selected to receive the award will be contacted.

Overview of Scholarship: “Have you shown leadership in helping to make a meaningful and lasting difference in your community? We’d love to hear about your community leadership efforts and what inspired you to get involved. We’re more interested in the mark you’re making in the world than the marks you’re getting in the classroom. This scholarship program is open to student leaders with an average of 75% and up… who are helping to support positive change in their communities. The TD Scholarships for Community Leadership are available to students who are helping to support change, nurture progress and contribute to making the world a better place, in their communities.”

Garth Magliore Music Bursary: In memory of consummate music lover, father, and mentor, Garth Magliore, the Garth Magloire Music Bursary is an award for Black, Indigenous, People of Colour (BIPOC) students from the Greater Toronto Area enrolled in a postsecondary music program who demonstrate financial need.

“Applicant must have been a foster child with an official Canadian or American foster care program and agrees to having the above organization verify the same. Youth who were involved in kinship care or other alternative living situations can also receive consideration for this award. Youth who were part of a Children’s Aid Society (CAS) agency or similar program will also be eligible to apply for this award. Applicant will be enrolled as a full-time student at a recognized general/ vocational College or post-secondary institution in Canada or USA by the start of the next school semester. Applicant must be a Canadian or American Citizen or Permanent Resident. Applicant must be 24 years of age or less at the time of application."

“Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) York Chapter is offering 1 University Engineering Entrance Scholarship valued at $1,500 this year. Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is a self-regulatory body that licenses and governs Ontario's professional engineers. York Chapter is the local presence for PEO in York Region. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of the student's community contributions, intra and extracurricular activities, and their intention to pursue a career as a Professional Engineer. To qualify for this award, the student must graduate with honors standing from a secondary school in York Region and be enrolled in an accredited engineering program at a Canadian university for the 2025-2026 academic year."

School-Nominated Scholarships
There are many scholarship opportunities available for students. There are some scholarships that are school-nominated, meaning school staff nominate students on behalf of the school. Be mindful of requirements and deadlines for each scholarship. You must meet internal deadlines set at PETHS to be considered. If you have any questions, please book an appointment to speak to a guidance counsellor.
- The internal deadline to submit to PETHS guidance is October 7th, 2025 by 3pm.
- To be nominated, please complete this Google Form as the application.
- This is a non-monetary award; however, being nominated for this award grants the nominee exclusive access to apply to the National Scholarship Program (application linked here & above), which grants a monetary award.
- Instructions for submitting the National Scholarship application will be emailed to the nominee directly, where that deadline is October 31st, 2025.
- The deadline to apply for admission to U of T and be considered for the National Scholarship Program is October 17, 2025.
- Three nominees will be chosen.
- Complete the Queen's University scholarship application package and submit this to the guidance office.
- The internal deadline to submit to PETHS guidance is November 14th by 3 p.m.
In order to apply for any of the major awards, you must apply to your program at Queen's through OUAC by November 20th at the latest. Only then will you receive your access to SOLUS (the Queen's internal platform) to which you will upload your application (by the December 8th deadline) for consideration.
To receive this award, you must be nominated by your school.
- The internal deadline to submit to PETHS guidance is January 19, 2026
- Please fill out the Google Form and submit it.
- PETHS must submit the name of our school nominee by January 28th, 2026
- School nominee must then submit their full application (including two letters of reference) to the Scholarship Committee by February 18th, 2026.
Nominees must:
- be entrepreneurial-minded and plan to pursue a career in one of more of the following focus areas: technology, engineering, entrepreneurship, and business enterprise, applied scientific research. Check if your program is eligible (linked here & above).
- Meet at least two of the following criteria: academic excellence, leadership (entrepreneurial or community), financial need.
To receive this award, you must be nominated by your school.
- Four nominees can be chosen.
- Review the criteria to determine your eligibility.
- The internal deadline is TBD based on timelines not yet set by Western University; internal application will be shared at that time
- Submit your application to Ms. Webster in Guidance.
The online application and all supporting documentation must be submitted to Western University by Western’s deadline TBD.

To receive this award you must be nominated by your school.
- Five nominees can be chosen.
- Nominees must be enrolling in a full-time skilled trade one-year certificate or two-year diploma program at a participating college starting in Fall 2026. Check to see which colleges are eligible here
- Each college has their own scholarship application form, requirements, & deadline date
- Information about the internal deadline to be nominated by PETHS is May 2026
If successful, you will be notified by July 31, 2026.
