You can engage in your child’s learning at home and school in many ways. The school council provides advice on school matters and helps to strengthen the important relationship between schools, families and their communities. The council includes family members, school staff and community members.
Trudeau School Council Overview
The School Council is committed to supporting quality learning in a safe environment through a partnership with staff, students, parents and the community to provide the highest standard of education. The School Council helps out the Principal on matters concerning the school, and reviews policies and procedures for the school and the Board. They meet about once a month to discuss these topics.

Objectives
- To serve as an advisory body to the school principal and to the York Region District School Board relating to the school's Vision and Mission Statements, and to the review, development and implementation of the School Plan for Continuous Improvement.
- To facilitate communication among parents/guardians, administrators, teachers, and students in the school community by providing a forum for both input and support, and where appropriate, by making reccommedations to the York Region District School Board and the Minister of Education and Training.
- To support school staff members in their efforts to focus time and resources on the essential tasks of teaching and learning.
- To promote the building of a vibrant school community, which will have its common interest the education of students, served by Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School.
